Armenia 8 days Tour itinerary

Day 1 – Departure from Tbilisi hotel to Armenia and cross the border. Visit Odzum monastery and walk around the city, Haghpat, Sanahin and Vandzor monasteries. accommodation at hotel “Dilijan” resort in Dilijan.

Day 2 – Walk around the Dilijan town. Jorney to forested Dilijan Nature Park with lakes, hill trails and villages. Visit Haghartsin, Goshevank. Lake Sevan – boat trip, visit peninsula monastery Sevanavank. Accommodation at Tufenkian – Avan Marak Tsapatagh Hotel in Sevan.

Day 3 – Drive to Selim pass. Visit Selim Caravansaray, Noradus cross – Stones, Khndzoresk cave town , Zorakarer- Karahunj. Home-made dinner from fresh and natural products in Sisian, Overnight at Lalaner hotel in Sisian.

Day 4 – Sisian tour: Visit Noravank monastery , Areni winery and Khor Virap monastery. Armen carpet factory. Overnight at Ani Plaza Hotel in Yerevan.

Day 5 – Yerevan City tour : Monument “ Mother of Armenia”, panoramic view of the city – Cascade, Republic square, Persian Blue Mosque, University, Parlement, Machdots and Bagramian avenues, Musical Academy, Memorial of victims of genocide – Medieval bridge, Close Market, Central Market of “ Shooka”, Fortress “ Erebuni” and museum, National History Museum, Spice market Shuka, Brandy factory and brandy tasting. Vernisage ( only on Saturday and Sunday), Parc “ Ahtanak”, Square of Opera, Memorials of A. Tamanjanu and David Sasunzi. Dinner with Armenian folklore live music and dances. Overnight in Yerevan.

Day 6 – Finish the city tour in Yerevan , incl. Matenadaran Museum. Visit Gueghard monastery and in Garni visit Hellenistic temple, Garni fortress , Summer residence of Armenin Royalty and mosaic ancient baths. Lunch in Garni in Rural house and Armenian lavish baking.Visit Echmiadzin : Mayar Tahar church with the treasury room , gardens of the monastery with the Genocid monument, Manougian museum. Overnight in Yerevan.

Day 7 – Visit Ochakan city- tomb of St. Maesrob Machdots, visit Amberd fortress, visit camp and homes of Yezidi tribe and try fresh cheese and yogurt. Visit Marmashen Urartian Fortress. In Gyumri: historical center, street of Crafts, guided visit of Gyumri Brewery. Accommodation at Berlin hotel in Gyumri.

Day 8 – Cross the Armenian – Georgian border at Bavra and drive to Tbilisi hotel.

Azerbaijan tour route, 7 days

Day 1. Arrival at the Baku airport, transfer and accommodation at Nuhs Ark hotel in Baku.

Day 2. Baku tour: walking in the old city, Shirvan Shach palace, Caravansaray and drive to Gobustan open-airMuseum, Stay overnight at Nuhs Ark hotel in Baku.

Day 3. Drive to Ashkheron, visit village Surakhani (XVII c.), Mukhtarov Mosque, Temple of Mardakhani and Romani, Stay overnight at Nuhs Ark hotel in Baku.

Hiking routes in Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park

The Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park is located in central Georgia and is favourite destination for cultural sightseeings in historical and architectural monuments of Georgia. In Borjomi-Kharagauli national park you will enjoy the beauty of nature, mountains, forests and amazing views of valleys.

A network of nine park trails allow hiking trips ranging from one day up to one week, at altitudes between 800m and 2,642m.

Nikoloz Romanoff Trail

Diverse trail crossing the National Park from Likani to Marelisi village.
Route length each direction: 40 km.
2 overnight stays in the National Park in Lomismta and Didi Sakhvlari in tents.
Extension day trip to Lomismta (approx. 4 hrs) is possible.
Hike can be combined with the next trail;

A day trip leading through diverse landscapes from Likani to Qvabiskhevi.

Challenging round trip from Atskuri via Amarati with great panoramic views.

Shortest trail crossing the National Park. From Nunisi to Zanavi.
Especially recommendable when the rhododendron is in blossom (April-May).

How to get there:
You can reach the National Park from Tbilisi either by public transportation (train or vans) or by car, which will take you approx. 2.5 hours. There are trains from Tbilisi and Batumi to Borjomi, Bakuriani, Kharagauli and Marelisi.

ITINERARY:
Day 1 – Tbilisi and Mzkheta City Tour: Saint Trinity Church, Narikala Fortress, Sioni Cathedral, basilica Anchiskhati, Treasury of Art Museum, historic and architectural complex of Jvari, Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, Samtavro Convent.
Day 2 – Kakheti, the Land of wine and vine-growing: museum in Tsinandali, wine cellar with assortment of wines, historical complex of Ikalto Academy, architectural complex of Alaverdi. The road to Tbilisi runs along the foot of the Caucasus mountain range providing views of the fortified medieval citadel of Gremi and the Nekresi Monastery.
Day 3 – Military Georgian Road across the Caucasus: historical and architectural Monument Ananuri, alpine ski resort Gudauri, Jvari crossing (2,395 m. alt.), village of Kazbegi, Gergeti Trinity church, beautiful view of Kazbegi mountain peak.
Day 4 – Kartli region: Bolnisi Sioni and Dmanisi ruins (proclaimed as the birthplace of the first Europeans).
Day 5 – On the way to Kutaisi visit to Stalin Museum in Gori and Uplistsikhe. Kutaisi Tour: Bagrati Temple, historic and architectural complex Gelati.
Day 6 – Batumi City Tour: Museum of History and Architecture, Gonio Fortress in the vicinity of the border between Georgia and Turkey, a walk in the seaside park.
Day 7 – Borjomi City Tour: the Royal Residence Palace of the Romanovs – Russian Royal family, tasting of Borjomi mineral water and hike to the national park of Borjomi-Kharagauli.
Day 8 – Cave city Vardzia, City cut out of solid rock.
